Holly works with families and couples to help strengthen bonds, increase communication, and resolve conflict. Holly has a direct style that is grounded in presence and humor. She has received cultural competency training for the Jewish community and enjoys working with clients with diverse identities, sexualities, and backgrounds.

Therapeutic Approach

Holly approaches psychotherapy from an integrative lens, connecting the core tenets of existential therapy and person-centered therapy.

Existentialism

Holly’s approach is rooted in existential philosophy, which emphasizes that we all have the capacity for self-awareness and finding meaning in relation to others around us. She believes that anxiety around issues such as death, meaning, isolation, and freedom are part of the human experience, but that we can find resilience and hope in the face of these concerns. She collaborates with her clients to find purpose and a sense of responsibility while overcoming the challenges in their lives.

Person-Centered

Person-centered therapy emphasizes the need for providing a warm, non-judgemental space for the client to process their experience, while working towards self-discovery. Holly provides an environment where the client can discuss any topic that weighs on their mind, while knowing their thoughts and feelings will be met with respect and care. She emphasizes that the therapeutic relationship remains central to therapy, building trust and confidence within the client that they can apply to other areas of their lives. Holly is a proponent of strengths-based counseling to further build upon the strengths clients possess.

Professional

Holly received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Bradley University and her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University, where she competed in track and field. Holly has completed a 40-hour Illinois domestic violence prevention training to assist individuals in crisis intervention, safety planning, and breaking cycles of abuse. In addition to her psychotherapy work, she spent a decade gaining experience in the hospitality industry and the legal profession. She also volunteers at a therapeutic equestrian center, helping clients connect mind and body to reduce the physical manifestations of fear and anxiety.

Personal

Many of my personal experiences have shaped my views on therapy. I have reckoned with my own religious upbringing, family diagnoses of Alzheimer’s, and navigating my role as a spouse, mother, daughter, and sibling. I understand the power of shared connection and strive to empower my clients with care as they navigate similar journeys.

Outside of my work, I enjoy time outdoors with my husband, son, and poodle, whether racing bikes or enjoying a leisurely walk with a friend.
