Land Acknowledgement

Ownership, abuse of power, oppression, false hierarchy, and control have no place within the therapeutic relationship or within therapeutic spaces. I therefore think it is essential to respectfully and humbly acknowledge that the land Inner Choice Psychotherapy resides on is also the home of the Peoria, Potawatomi, Myaamia, Ho-Chunk, Kickapoo, and Sioux peoples (Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Seven Council Fires) who were forced to relinquish their land via Cession 148. Inner Choice Psychotherapy seeks to honor indigenous people by providing care based on equity, integrity, and collaboration.
